Strontium ranelate is a promising drug used in the treatment of osteoporosis. This drug has a unique dual effect on bone turnover, simultaneously increasing bone formation by osteoblasts (anabolic effect) and decreasing bone resorption by osteoclasts (antiresorptive effect).
